Sweet Brotherly Love

While Brian and I were cleaning a little this evening we looked over at the boys (it had become quite quiet) and this is what we saw. I love it when they all get along.

On another note. My Grandpa (grandpa george to the boys) passed away on June 4. I sat the boys down and tried to explain how Grandpa George had passed away and we wouldn't be able to see him anymore. They were just not getting it. So I told them point blank, Grandpa George is dead. This they understood. We have seen a dead rat and dead bugs, so I figured they kind of understood what this meant. It has been a little over three weeks since he passed away and they boys hadn't mentioned anything about it until the other night. Brian was taking his asthma medication and Michael, very cautiously, reminded us that Grandpa George had those. Casey while looking through pictures came across one of him and his Grandpa George at Michael's second birthday and he exclaims, "That is me with Grandpa George at the birthday." He then looks to me and then to Brian and says, "Grandpa George is dead." It made me laugh, and I wanted to cry because in an odd way I found it to be very sweet.

Fishing Fun

Casey waiting for Daddy to get pole ready
Daddy getting pole ready
Peyton making sure his lifejacket is in proper working order.
Michael waiting to catch his little fish, we are not to catch sharks as they will kill us if the get into the boat, and big fish won't fit in the freezer (or so Michael says)

Since Daddy has been having three day weekends (most of the time) with the new job we decided to take the boat out for a spin (make sure everything is working) and try to catch some fish. Four hours later, no fish, very sad little boys and some swimming we made it home. We went to Lake Sammish and ended up anchoring the boat and taking turns swimming. Somebody was always on the boat with the children that weren't in the water. Michael and Casey didn't like being in the open water but did enjoy sitting on the little step with their feet dangling in. Peyton didn't get to go all the way in but had big grins everytime Daddy dipped his little legs in the water. Hopefully we will be able to afford the fuel so that we can do this kind of thing more. Mommy doesn't see herself enjoying the bay but might be able to start enjoying the lake more. Maybe we'll even take the tub out when it get a little warmer :o)

Grandma, Grandpa and the grandkids

Weigh in~Week One

Kevin and Peyton
Grandpa Rutter and Kai
What did one week of a 1250+ calorie diet look like on the scale when little man Peyt sat on it?? To be honest, he is not so little now :o) We did it, we finally found something that worked. Peyt weighed in at 18lbs 12 oz. Not to shabby. We are working our way up to 20lbs (yipee forward facing). I can't wait. We have had relatives in town for a week so here are a few pics from the week.

Party Time, Finally

It finally happened. We celebrated Peyton's First Birthday with family yesterday. It is still hard to believe that this little man is one. So long to my sweet baby, hello little boy. My mom and dad and brothers were up from vegas for a week so we decided to post pone any celebrations until everyone could be here. It was well worth it. Thanks to Costco for doing cupcakes now. No more serving and cutting. The cupcake was also a perfect size for this high calorie diet little man.
He loved that cupcake.
Using the new dump truck to practice walking, wish I had gotten video of this, what he really wanted was the new sippy cup in the truck, does this kid think about anything other then food?
The Birthday hat after cake
Grandpa Rutter with Peyton and Casey.
All in all it was a really fun afternoon with family. The boys did a great job, especially since they had not had naps. Dad did a great job BBQing for everyone and cleaning up for the mama. Off to get my children ready for the day.

Call from the Doc

Doctor just called and he said that all of his tests are coming back in perfect range. He is thinking that he might have a high activity level and just not enough calories going in to keep up with him. When there is more to know I will let you know. I will be meeting with a nutrionist to keep track of caloric intake and get weekly weigh ins. We will be meeting with the family doctor in about 6 weeks to check in again.

Grandpa George

I am going to be spending my day (as the boys allow me to) remembering my Grandpa, Grandpa George as Michael and Casey so sweetly refeered to him. He passed away last night. I am thankful however that he was able to meet his two newest little Jewels (as he so sweetly refeered to his Great Grandchildren) and am sad that he won't be able to meet any future ones. This is a picture of the first time Grandpa George got to meet the newest little jewel in our family, Peyton probably right around (or a week before) this time last year.

The Dr. Appt

Nothing to really let everyone know about. Dr. Wisner ordered some more blood tests, urine tests and stool samples. I have a fun day ahead of me. Hopefully we will know more when the tests come back. The concern right now is that everything (weight, height and head circumference) seem to be slowing down. Hopefully it will be something easy to take care of. Post more later.

Casey~Future Crab fisherman

Watch for him on the Deadliest Catch in about 15 more years :0)

July 2006~Casey loved being out on Uncle Marks boat, going crabbing is something my boys sure do enjoy.
