Happy Birthday Casey

Hard to believe that is has been 5 years since we welcomed our second child into the family!
He came 10.5 months after his older brother.
Our little tax deduction.
Seriously.
Determined that he would be born before the first of the year I mixed Castor Oil into a McDonald milk shake on the evening of December 30!
I can't drink them anymore, I still smell and taste the castor oil!
*on a side note, I have taken Castor Oil with my last two pregnancies and it didn't work. Not sure why it worked with Casey, maybe he knew how badly we wanted the extra deduction!
Called my sister to come pick up Michael because contractions had started.
After 12 hours of labor he made his big debut.
Casey is full of life!

This is my favorite picture of Casey with my Dad!

Another one of my favorite!

Such a sweet little guy.

Cowboy Case!

Here he is, the new 5 year old.
I can't wait to see what the coming year holds for this guy.
Happy Birthday to my dear sweet 2nd born!

School Program

Peyton is waiting for the Christmas program to start

There is Michael, the girl standing next to him started dancing right in front of him whenever I tried to take a picture.

I am so thrilled with the school district we are in. Not only is it the school I attended, but my mom also attended. Michael's music teacher is the mother of a girl I graduated with. She is such a sweet lady. I am also thrilled that with the song choices.
There was a little baby, oh my lord, way down in Bethlehem.

There are not many schools that would let you sing that now a days!!

He is Growing Up so Fast

Did you see what was missing in the picture above?

That's right, he lost his first tooth!!!!
He is growing up to fast!

Grace can roll!!

Grace rolled over to get a better look at the monorail!

The boys' Christmas Tree

Michael was a shepherd in the church program, Casey is a two people to the left.

We were able to get two trees this year. Some friends of Carl and Cindy's had trees they needed thinned out. They had intended on using them as Christmas trees but couldn't use them fast enough. The said we could pick out any one we wanted and even get a little one for the boys. So we did. They love having their own tree in the rec room!!!

I think we have reached a conclusion

And now it all makes sense. We have had some mild concerns about Michael and his color recognition, but after getting a note home from the teacher yesterday about what is happening at school we looked a little deeper. We found some tests online asked Michael and Casey what they saw in the pictures. Casey could see everything and Michael could only see one. Then we found the reverse tests. The ones that only Michael could see, wouldn't you know it, Michael could see the stuff.

Michael has a color deficiency. Now, where do we go from here. I have no idea. His teacher suggested going to the doctor, is that necessary? Hopefully my sister will be able to help me when she is finished with her errands.

Happy Birthday Grandpa George

It is my Grandpa George's Birthday. We miss him very much and loved every minute we got to spend with him. Even the stressful one :o) This picture was taken in June of 2007. It was the first time Grandpa got to meet Peyton. I never like taking Peyton over there, not because I didn't like seeing Grandpa and having him see him. Grandpa would start crying whenever he saw Peyton, all because of that red hair. It reminded him of Grandma.

Thank you

Grandma Rutter was kind enough to "mail" (leave packages at our house that I am to tell the boys were mailed) to open through the month of December.
Don't worry Mom, I got pictures of the whole process. Just need to load them onto the computer.
More pics to come soon!

Grace's shirt says

Oh so true!

Funny Story

I wish that we had pictures of this event. Even more so I wish I could have seen it.

Brian was holding Grace on his lap and talking with her. Peyton came over to give her a kiss on the lips. Grace, being the sweetheart that she is, leaned into the kiss. What came next sent Brian into a fit of laughter. She spit up right in her mouth. Michael and Casey thought that Peyton had spit up and Peyton spent the next hour wiping his mouth.

Operation Christmas Child

The boys are really excited. Our church is taking part in Operation Christmas Child. You can fill a box, label it for a boy or girl in a certain age range and fill it up with toys, personal items, school items and coloring items. We headed out to Fred Meyer's today to pick up some toys. I had a 10% off coupon!
I was quite impressed. Peyton didn't quite get it but Michael and Casey were having a blast and telling everyone what they were doing. The really understand what we are doing. Problem is, my boys have very expensive taste. They would see a $40 toy and ask if we could get it for the kids. I showed them toys in our price range and let them pick. We are going to fill 4 shoe boxes. The boys will each do one and we will fill one for Grace.
We plan on included photos of the kids to send with the boxes. I am glad that we are teaching the boys it is important to give to those in need. We are also coming close to their favorite time of year when Mommy has to make sure she has change on her at all times. They love to give to the bell ringers.
Will post pics with their finished boxes when I am done rounding up everything for them!!

Pictures....

Having given up on getting a deer this year Brian has started in on the duck season.
He went out one day last weekend and came home with four ducks.
He was quite pleased when I asked him if one of the green heads was in good enough condition to mount! Sadly, they were not. Hopefully he will get another one that is.

I bought this size 12 month dress for Grace to wear in March. Guess I was wrong. It fits her now!

My two youngest, aren't they cute. All dressed up and ready for church!
Friday Michael's friend Noah got to ride the bus home with him.
All the boys had fun playing together.
Interesting thing is....
Noah's mom was one of my BEST FRIENDS in elementary school!
It's fun watching things come full circle.
I am looking forward to watching these two build a friendship.

Next time it is Michael's turn to go to Noah's house!

Monday

I am needing to do a new post but there is currently nothing new to discuss. I have Christmas outfits picked and am lining up a time with my brother in law Ben to do some family photos. We have not had a family picture since it was just the four of us. We are indeed long overdue!! Grace is still putting herself to sleep and sleeping 6 hours in her first stretch, three after that and doesn't like to get up before 9!

I am trying to build our internet retail business and since I do not consider myself to be a sales person this is proving to be difficult. I am up for the challenge though!! We will be a part of the Christmas in November that is being held at the Hampton Inn in Bellingham. November 22 from 2-5.

If any of my blog readers want to know how I can help save them time and money let me know. I can tell you about some of our products and get you samples. We just launched a new cleaning line called Legacy of Clean.

Have a lovely Monday everyone. The picture above was taken January of 2005. Michael would have been 11 months and Casey just a couple weeks. Do you see how nice and BRIGHT his oley blankie is? It was in one piece too!!
